Longevity Awards

While participants receive 10-year priority status after completing ten adult races, longevity recognition is initially awarded to those participants who have run 20 races (non-consecutive or consecutive). Runners who continue to participate in the Mount Marathon Race® receive additional recognition each time they have completed an additional 10 races.

After the 2019 race, there is one man, Fred Moore, that has completed 50 consecutive races. There are 2 men who have completed 40 or more races and 3 women who have completed 30 or more races, and 67 men and 26 women who have completed 20 or more races.

In 1988, Ed Schuster was the first man to reach the 20 year milestone. Patti Foldager and Ellyn Brown were the first women to reach the 20 year mark in 2002. Fred Moore’s first race was in 1970 and he has finished every race since.
