Registration Fees

Race entry fees are used to help fund the Mount Marathon Race.
Entry fees are due at the time the application is submitted. Payment is made using the RunSignUp platform. Your credit card will show a charge from RunSignUp and Seward MMR.

Priority Status Registration Fee

  • Junior race: $50* (plus RunSignup registration charge)
  • Adult races:  $100** (plus RunSignup registration charge)

*Entry fees for past junior champions are waived for junior division registrations only.
**Entry fees are waived for past champions of an adult race.

Lottery Registration Fee

  • Junior race: $15 (plus RunSignup registration charge)
  • Adult races: $20 (plus RunSignup registration charge)

NOTE: During the lottery application process, all applicants will be required to pre-authorize a credit card charge for the the balance of their entry fee (the full entry free minus the lottery registration charge). However, only the lottery winners will be charged the balance of their entry ($80 for adults and $35 for juniors) when the lottery results are announced no later than April 15.

No Refund Policy

No refunds of priority or lottery registration fees will be issued in the event of race cancellation, a racer’s choice to not participate, injury, severe weather conditions, road closures, natural disasters including but not limited to fire and/or unhealthy air quality, threats to local and national security and any unknown condition that may result from any of these events.

2025 Fee Increase

In 2025, the Mount Marathon Race Committee raised registration fees by $15 across the board to help offset the growing costs of conducting the event.
The Mount Marathon Race fees still compare favorably with other major events in Alaska and elsewhere:
– Anchorage Mayor’s Marathon – $119
– Cirque Series Alyeska — $129
– Lost Lake Run (Seward) — $120
– Robert Spurr Memorial Hill Climb (Bird Ridge) — $40
– Veins of Gold Mountain Run (Palmer) — $85
– Pike’s Peak Marathon (Colorado) — $200-250
– Dipsea Race (California) — $115
– The Rut Mountain Runs (Montana) – $70-175 depending on distance
