10-Year Status applies to a racer who has been an official finisher in 10 or more adult races (previously referred to as a veteran racer) AND raced at least one adult race prior to 2019.
- Junior race finishes DO NOT count towards 10-year status (MMR’s junior race records are incomplete).
- The adult finishes do NOT need to be consecutive.
- The 10th year simply needs to be an official finish (faster than 2:30:00) and does not require placing in the Top 50 Percent of your age group.
- Those with 10-Year Status may come and go from the race without losing priority registration, but must register between March 1-31 to secure their spot.
- Those with 10-Year Status are not required to register to keep their spot if they plan to skip that year.
- It is highly discouraged to repeatedly sign up and then decide not to race. This is because their unused spot cannot be redistributed, but would have gone to a lottery winner had they not signed up. 10-Year Status racers should only register if they truly expect to participate that year.
- Through a rule change called the 10-Year New Racer Repeal Rule, 10-Year Status is no longer available to new runners beginning in 2021.
