Safety Meeting for 2024
The safety meeting will be July 3 at Seward High School along with bib pick-up.
Mandatory for First-Time Racers
- Attendance is mandatory for ALL first-time racers (even though you have completed the entire race course prior to race day as required).
- Juniors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the entire event, including the video and bib pickup.
- Before first-time racers will be allowed to pick up their bib, racers (or their parent or guardian if under 18) must sign a statement that they have completed the entire race course prior to race day.
- Any first-time racer who fails to attend this meeting will be disqualified and will need to re-apply through the lottery process to participate in a future race.
Recommended for All Racers
The terrain on Mount Marathon changes every year and there are inherent risks associated with mountain running and racing. Veteran racers should also practice the entire race course and be adequately conditioned before participating. Underprepared participants may endanger other racers, spectators and medical personnel, and jeopardize the sustainability of the race.
If you do not feel adequately prepared, DO NOT participate in the race.
